6 Weeks Pregnant

6 weeks. And this week it's all about the boobs.

Every morning when I've woken up they have been the first reminder that I'm pregnant. My husband even noticed when I met him at the station last night! It's a great feeling. My boobs were my favourite part of my body before my son took the opportunity to suck them dry. When I stopped breast feeding him at ten months old, a small naive part of me thought that something might remain. Sadly not. Only this week did my boobs of old return. They are fuller, perter and more sensitive. What more could a girls ask for. Surely they must be able to packet the hormones of early pregnancy to keep all women's boobs in this beautiful state of perfection!

So, apart from the obvious upsides, the only real dowers this week are the fact that I've been knackered and also seriously paranoid about whether this pregnancy will actually last. I've also been eating too much, I just can't seem to stop myself. I see food and I have to eat it, regardless of how much I don't want to get fat. I think it's probably made worse by the fact that I'm staying with my parents who seem to think that one can only survive on 5 meals a day:

Breakfast

Mid morning coffee and cake

Lunch

Mid afternoon tea and cake

Dinner then pudding

It's no wonder i"m growing what my husband affectionately refers to as my "food baby!"

So, this is me. 6 weeks pregnant.

My baby is now the size of a lentil with an extremely oversized head and his facial features are forming with dark spots where the eyes are, openings where the nostrils will be, and pits to mark the ears. His brain, muscles and bones are beginning to take shape, his hands and feet resemble little paddles and his tiny heart is beating twice as fast as mine! According to Baby Centre, he's also starting to make his very first movements.
