[I just decided to place this image to the right, because I didn't think it would be appropriate to put it on the "left"]
So, what do I think? Who do I believe in?
What you have to realise is that "Tory" runs through my veins. My parents are both company directors, I went to private school from the age of 4 and an all girls boarding school from the age of 11. I even remember the sad day when we all sat in the common room and watched the demise of Maggie.
So, naturally, before I actually thought about it, I always voted blue.
After 13 years of a Labour Government and the last 2 excruciating ones of Mr Brown, what I definitely know is that I could never bring myself to vote Labour.
Lib Dem has always seemed like a wasted vote and they only really seem to play with policies anyway and say what they think people want to hear without any real substance..... oh, you want evidence...:
"We want to offer real help to the millions of families trying to make ends meet, [great, thanks, how do you define trying to make ends meet] so we will get wasteful government spending under control [how? How much?] and give the economy a boost by cutting taxes for people from the bottom up [right...]. We will also crack down on big business [yes, punish those who are successful and they will go elsewhere] and the super rich [twice] who exploit tax loopholes [where there's a will there's a way] and do not pay their fair share. We will strengthen the economy by requiring the Bank of England to take house prices into account when setting interest rates [into account...]and we will effectively regulate the banking system to prevent irresponsible lending and business practices [we knew you couldn't talk about the economy without mentioning the damn bankers]."
Ok, so call me a cynic and yes, I am looking for reasons not to like them, but I wasn't convinced.
Until the first Leaders Debate.
Nick Clegg [swooooon], I want to have your babies
My status update that evening was:
"Decision Made: Snog Nick, Marry David, Avoid Gordon"
He caught my attention. I had serious election apathy and he ACTUALLY made me think: should I be voting Lib Dem?
But as Cleggmania died down, I, as with the rest of the population who had this thought, realised that just because a man has the gift of the gab, can look down a camera and remember a questioners first name, doesn't change his policies.
So, I know who I don't want to vote for, but why DO I want to vote Tory? Best of a bad bunch? I hope not. So this time, more than any time before I have gone further to really try and understand the policies behind the people. You can't dismiss a party because you don't like the face. This isn't XFactor.
Am I left 100% confident that I've done the right thing? No. Sorry. I do have doubts.
Why?
Because some of my friends, many of whom I would consider sensible, educated people who are all in business have voted Lib Dem and you know what, I just don't get it.
So, that's my amazing view on the Election. What does it show: probably that I'm just another disilliusioned electorate.
And the Exit polls have just come in:

307 Conservative
255 Labour
59 Lib Dem
We'll see. Pour the coffee.. I'm in for the night.
