R E S P E C T

Over the years at work my main feedback from colleagues has been the fact that I can come across as cold or distant. I really do think that this is a problem that women at work have. If men are tough, successful and driven, they gain respect, in my business these qualities makes a woman a bitch....

I know that it's hard to know where to draw the line to retain respect from your colleagues (and your dignity!) but last night I decided to take a risk and show the "real me!"

I'm not a shy kinda girl, and I do have a penchant for karaoke and being at the centre of the dance floor, but it's not a passion I tend to share with my colleagues.... or so I thought!

Last night was awesome. We had an early meal and then headed to a Karaoke bar in Leicester Square . Thankfully everyone really let their hair down and we had a really good boogie (despite having our illegal vodka in a water bottle confiscated early doors). After a slightly excessive walk to find the bast place for serious dance floor action, we settled on Revolution. My God, am I going there again!

You know when you've had a good boogie when the next day your thighs are burning and you can feel abs that you thought you'd lost years ago! Admittedly, there was a little too much groin grinding, a little too much bottom spanking and definitely too much tequila! But you know what, I think it did the trick... most of my antics were with an ex-colleague anyway, so that doesn't count. From all the comments last night and this morning (sorry itsamummieslife, your advice about not going in for 2 days came too late!) I really think I managed to get the balance right, so well done me.

I'm now sitting at home alone, while hubby's out doing his own bump and grind and my stomach is about to explode. I've spent the entire day eating myself out of my hangover, partly because I had to interview someone at midday, and I've finished it off with a stupidly large take away and about two pints of tea!

I've finished work until 5th January and it's my birthday tomorrow, so why shouldn't I treat myself. Thinking about it, I'll go and have a nice long bath now. I do hope it snows.
