Burst pipes.

Today work has been good. I got through a good deal of work and I didn't have a personality clash with anyone! I had my first proper team meeting. My team. It sounds good. I'm damn proud of myself.

It's hubby's birthday though, so I'd arranged for a friend to look after our son so I could take him out for dinner. It was supposed to be a suprise. Unfortunatley because hubby was so down this morning about his work that I felt I had to tell him to cheer him up. He seemed delighted. Anyway, during my team meeting I found out that new neighbours boiler has broken, spraying water all over her newly Christmas-decorated sitting room :-(. She asked if I could host the annual Children's Christmas party tomorrow. Of course. I also offered her our spare room, poor thing. So, plans have changed: I've shown my face at the corporate Christmas party and now I'm heading home to spend the evening celebrating getting older with my hubby.

See: keeping it all in perspective! We've all got the day off tomorrow and are going to buy our Christmas tree :-)
