What a weekend. A manic Saturday morning Christmas shopping (on my own, hubby and son did their own). I hate it. People turn into animals and it's every man for himself. You manage to find your purchase, negotiate the crowds find the till.... and then wait for half an hour to pay. Yuck.
We get home and once son has slept we headed to Sainsbury's for the annual Christmas drinks party booze run. I ended up in a one on one battle with another woman, over the last shelf of £3.99 down from £8.99 vino!
"darling... Over here, quckly darling, bring the trolly, this is the one we were looking for"! (visualise me juggling about three bottles of wine under each arm, while hubby strolls over!)
The evening was spent watching X factor with some good friends, eating chineese and waking up on the sofa at 0130 thinking it probably wasn't the best idea the night before our party.
So anyway this morning was spent with a hangover, still trying to keep a smile on my face. It was a great opportunity for us to chill out, have fun and forget the elephant in the room.
Once they'd gone we ran around like mad men trying to get the house ready for the party at 2. No one arrived until 3.30..
It's now 2146, Joe's won X factor, I'm on the sofa knackered and worried my glands are up and hubby's running around tidying up. There's friction. I don't know what to say and I think he's just keeping himself busy so he doesn't need to think about things.
It's going to be a strange week.
