Secondary infertility

That was as blunt as it got at my visit to my GP this evening. I don't know what I expected, but the lack of tlc and interest was shocking.

I say I didn't know what to expect, that's not really true. I would have expected to be asked some fairly simple questions before the standard "bloods" form was filled in.

Do you have regular cycles?
Do you think you are ovulating?
Do you know the signs to look for when you are ovulating?
How long have you been having your period since you had your first child?
How often are you having sex?

Fairly fundamental questions I would have thought, but zip.

The fact is that I am fully in tune with my body, i'm pretty sure I ovulate, I started my period again 6 months after our son was born. And yes, we have sex every other day.

BUT had I not been so in tune, some simple advice would have avoided me having to trudge off to hospital tomorrow morning for m blood tests, only to waste NHS time and money.

The blood tests will test "everything" apparently! That's good news I suppose, at least the ball is rolling. Having to stare at the form marked "secondary infertility" is a bit harsh though.

I'm so sorry your GP was so unhelpful. Mine was rather more understanding thankfully and I ended up being tested on a monthly basis - still the same conclusion as yours but apparently the bloods show that I am fertile and I am ovulating, even if I hadnt had a period for 7 years!
