Now THAT'S a school

This morning we went to look around a school for our son. The whole private vs state education debate has been bugging me for some time and I've decided that, from what I have experienced private is worth the money:

- much smaller class sizes
- no SATS testing
- broader range of subjects
- music, sport, trips....

What really impressed me today was that the headteacher knew every child's name. The children all stood up when we walked in a class and greeted us. We were Mr and Mrs X

I think our son would really benefit from being in that environment and I really do appreciate how lucky we are to be able to afford it.

So, the deed is done and his name is down! Scary eh!

We were lucky we could do the same and for all the same reasons you mention. Son is now 13, he passed his 11+ and is at the local Grammar school so we don't need to pay anymore!

That's the dream Trish! It's a tough decision and everyone has an opinion, but good to hear you agree xx
