It's funny how a minor crisis like a snow fall can put a whole City back a week so it thinks it's still on it's Christmas holidays! It's not that I'm complaining: half my office were unable to get to work today. The other quarter just used it as a good excuse to stay at home.
I couldn't even pretend to myself that I had to work from home. We had a pathetic dusting of snow and all my trains were running just fine. As a friend neatly summed up in a text to me this morning:
That blasted kingston loop, never works when you need it to, but when counting on it to be cancelled, it turns out to be the only bloody train working!
My team were awesome though. Of a floor of about 200, we were the last one's standing.
Despite the adversity, I had a great meeting with my old boss this morning (those of you who follow my Twitter will know about my "balls" comment) He's always great at shaking me up and pointing me in the right direction. I just hope I don't let him down.
Now I'm sitting here wondering if work will happen again tomorrow. It'll be the same old story: if I go in, no one else will and if I don't it will be a full office.
So, quote for today?
Prediction is very difficult, especially about the futureNiels Bohr

Typical that your train was running. I suspect you'll also be in tomorrow !
What is it about our corner of London - we never seem to get snowed in!
