Family Friday

I hate waking up with a hangover and this morning's gave me a bit of a surprise. Why is it that I can drink Gin and Tonic 'til the cows come home, but 2 glasses of wine and I'm done! Oh well, I've got a couple of weeks to enjoy myself, so what the heck!

We had a lovely family morning this morning. We went to The Little Gym and our son had a great time, running around and jumping off everything.

It's funny how things happen isn't it. When hubby was made redundant I was devastated. Everything was going so well and then it was all thrown up in the air. Now I realise it might have actually happened for a reason. Apart from the obvious ups and downs of the past month, we have spend so much time together as a family, it's been wonderful. Every weekend has been a long one, we've lunched together and even been to the cinema! Life can just pass you by sometimes, the day by day work, eat, sleep, dream of the future. We all plan for tomorrow, have our dreams, ambitions, success plans. What we forget is the journey and what we have in the now. The last month for me feels like we have stepped off the high speed train and taken time to enjoy the view.

It's a good note to self: enjoy the ride more often.

I was made redundant in the summer and it came as quite a shock, especially as I was on mat leave at the time. I didn't have the chance to go for one last beer with my colleagues, or have a leaving party or any sort of closure, I just didn't go back. It threw everything into a weird tailspin, but suddenly I've come out on top and everything seems to be going in my favour, and opportunities are popping up all over the place - it's like being made redundant was actually for the best.

BTW I would love it if you could review Little Gym on my website reallykidfriendly.com - we're running a little competition at the moment - 2 winners get to nominate a school / nursery to receive free books.
