After the emotional termoil of the last few days, I was pretty fortunate to have yesterday booked off work. We'd arranged to look round a school in the morning, so thought we'd use the opportunity of a Monday off to go to the cinema (something we haven't done since our son was born).

The school was ok, probably too far from home realistically, but an interesting comparison nonetheless. What gets me is the lack of "after school" facilities. In this day and age do they really expect working mothers to be able to pick their children up at 3.30?? I'd have to leave work at 2.30.... Can't really see that going through as "flexible working"... That's just "taking the piss" working!! Or are we all supposed to employ nannies to sit at home all day and then do pick up?! Hmmmmm

So, to Avatar. Wow, what a film. Apart from looking like a bit if a wally in my mav style 3D glasses, it was exactly what I needed. If you haven't seen it, it's a must. It makes you realise what life could be like if we were only more in tune with each other and nature. We spend our lives wanting bigger and better, when actually we have everything we need. It's ultimately a tragic romance (and my husband did ask me if I thought it was normal to fancy an 8 foot blue humanoid) but it's the way the people live that really resonated with me.

Auntie Flow hasn't showed her ugly face yet, but I know she's here. With the above in mind though, I just have to think that it just wasn't my time this month. For that reason, I've made the following list:

Reasons it was probably a good thing I didn't get pregnant this month:
1. Hubby is still looking for a job
2. The due date would have been our son's birthday
3. I would have been very fat for our holiday in Sept to Cornwall
4. I can go to my black tie do next week and not worry about people guessing

Ok, pretty pathetic! But it helps a little

We'll see what this month brings
