After writing my blog on Sunday, I've now remembered something else that one of my so called best friends said that really knocked me sideways:
"If you're thinking about what you look like as a mother, you've clearly got your priorities wrong"
I'm sorry, did I miss the chapter in the motherhood handbook which dictates that we must all cease from taking any pride in our appearance. The one where feeling good about yourself and still having the ability to turn heads becomes a bad thing. Have we forgotten about the MILF factor?
I appreciate that with very young babies, we are undoubtedly going to find ourselves with flabby tummies, leaking boobs and sick covered shoulders, but come on ladies be proud of yourselves.
As a mother of a two year old, I love being able to don my sexy underwear, reveal a bit of leg and wear good make up. I honestly get a thrill out of knowing that when I walk down the office I have quite a few eyes following me... What woman wouldn't!
And I guess that's my point: if you stop caring what you look like, you will let yourself go. You won't look good and you won't feel good and if you don't feel good about yourself, how do you expect anyone else to feel good about you.
So, come on ladies... Let's be Yummy Mummies all the way.

We're all yummy in our own ways arent we! I can believe what your friend said! Like you've said its such a buzz when you know you have eyes on you. Its the feel good factor and imo we are better parents when we feel good about ourselves!
yeah because only haggard looking mummies in bad clothes could possibly be good mummies. Sigh. Why do we mothers always try to put other mums down. do what you want hun, sod em all. that's my moto.
I'm so glad you agree ladies. I'm not vain, I just have pride x
