This pregnancy has gone so quickly, I can't believe it.... it's now only 9 weeks 'til Christmas!
Nothing major this week apart from being continuously tired. Because I'm not waddling around like a duck and am quite "neat", work seem to have forgotten that I've only got 4 weeks left and it would be quite nice to get at least some slack! Instead I've been in early, working my arse off all day and then being asked to dial into calls at 8pm. A little harsh I think....
The only other issue, which I really shouldn't be worrying about at this stage, but me being me, I am is.... is the fact that I think the baby is still transverse. I'm trying to do lots of "upright, forward and open" positions, which is what I remember from NCT last time, but what I really want to do is slouch on the sofa.
So, this is me, 31 weeks pregnant (clearly some bra issues this morning!)
According to BabyCentre, my baby weighs about 1.5kg (3.3lbs) and looks more than ever like a newborn. He measures about 41cm from crown to toe. His arms, legs and body continue to fill out – and they are finally proportional in size to his head.
Apparently, I may notice my baby isn't moving around as much (lol! this baby is crazy, it's always moving around and it looks like it's going to explode from my belly like an alien sometimes!!). Believe it or not though, he still has plenty of growing to and I can expect him to gain at least 900g before birth. By this stage, most babies have turned head down into the "cephalic" position ready for birth. A few take a little longer and a few remain stubbornly upright in the "breech" position.
My baby's organs are continuing to mature and he is passing water from his bladder, which is good practice for the weeing he'll do after he's born. Also, the marrow in his bones has taken over from his liver the job of producing red blood cells.
BabyCentre also say that I've probably gained weight this month, somewhere between 1.3kg and 1.8kg. Gaining 450g a week is quite normal during the last trimester as your baby has a final growth spurt before he arrives in the world.
