29 Weeks Pregnant

My baby turned 3 this weekend - THREE?! The age old saying that "they grow up so quickly" really is true isn't it. It doesn't seem like that when they're 2 months old and screaming blue murder with colic - then it seems never ending. But now he's three, he's potty trained (even stands up to wee in the loo!), can talk for England (words of the moment being "stupid" and "disgusting"!) and I see can he's really becoming his own person now and I'm so proud. Proud, but sad, some days I just want a cuddle from my little baby.

So, I have a three year old and am 29 weeks pregnant. I do feel very lucky.

This week I had an appointment with my midwife. She did the usual: blood pressure, urine and blood sample. All seemed fine. Only slight niggle is the fact the my baby is transverse. According to my midwife, that's not a problem at this stage, but having looked on the internet it looks like I might not be in for a very nice time if the little man doesn't want to turn. Anyone else had experience of this? Next appointment is the first week of November, so I'm hoping I get some good news then.  I'm working one day a week from home now, which is great, as it only means three days in the office and at least there are only 6 weeks left now until Maternity leave starts - hurrah!

According to BabyCentre, my baby now weighs a little over 1kg and measures about 39cm from head to toe. On his head, hair is growing well. His testicles will have descended from near the kidneys through the groin en route to the scrotum.

My baby's head is getting bigger to make room for his developing brain. Nearly all babies react to sound and light by the end of this week.

So, this is me at 29 weeks pregnant.
