It's a regular theme running through my blog when I question "what's this all for?". We spend our lives in the fast lane, trying to be sucessful, whatever that means, aiming for the next big goal, what ever that is and all the while we're failing to recognise what is really important. What's passing us by.
We seem to do everything looking to the future, like eutopia will arrive when we hit 60! Life is happening now, while I sit on the train and blog, while I sit at my desk gritting my teeth about my MD, on the days when I can't be bothered. Life isn't about living for the 6 weeks a year when I'm not at work, it's not about living for the weekend. It isn't about "can't wait 'til". It's about here and now.
This is really a letter to myself, so I can read it again and remind myself, when I'm stuck in the future zone. It's partly inspired by my recent read "One Day", which I won't spoi for you, but READ IT!
So as I said to my colleague:
"One Day at a time - this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering"
